With a background in visual arts, body painting, and creative direction, Anja Yamaji brings an elevated artistic eye to every makeup application. Professionally trained at the Academy of Freelance Makeup in New York in 2011, she combines technical skill with a strong understanding of color, composition, lighting, and aesthetics.
As a professional artist working across multiple creative mediums, Anja approaches makeup as an art form - creating polished, camera-ready looks that enhance natural beauty while supporting the vision of each project, production, or client.
Her work blends beauty, artistry, and attention to detail to create looks that translate beautifully both in person and on camera.
Industry Experience
Anja Yamaji has worked in the beauty and creative industry for over a decade, collaborating with photographers, production companies, brands, and private clients across a wide variety of projects and events.
After graduating top of her class in makeup school, she was selected to work backstage at London Fashion Week in 2012. Her experience also includes New York Fashion Week and New York Couture Fashion Week.
Over the years, Anja has worked on commercials, video productions, editorials, weddings, body painting projects, and creative campaigns - including work connected to brands and companies such as Toyota, Gold's Gym, The Container Store, Lionsgate, and many more.
The Heart Behind the Artistry
While working on productions, photoshoots, and fashion events has been an exciting part of Anja’s journey, what truly drew her into makeup was the power it has to transform how people feel about themselves.
Anja is passionate about helping women feel confident, empowered, radiant, and seen - while also helping others grow creatively by sharing her knowledge and experience with aspiring artists and clients alike.
From 2016 to 2021, Anja taught at CMC Makeup School, helping future makeup artists develop their technical skills, creativity, and confidence within the beauty industry. She also continues to offer personalized 1-on-1 training and makeup lessons, including specialized guidance for women with mature skin.
Anja is based in Dallas, Texas and serves the greater DFW Metroplex, including North Dallas, Frisco, Plano, and surrounding areas.
